The therapeutic relationship begins when the client arrives at healthcare organizations requesting behavioral health services. Traditionally healthcare professionals have had the luxury of providing these services to their clients in a face-to-face treatment facility. This practice has made it less difficult for therapists and clients to develop an alliance with each other. Although telehealth has been around in some form since the 19th century, the recent COVID Pandemic crisis has thrust healthcare professionals and businesses in the United States and the world into utilizing digital technology to meet the mental health and physical needs of individuals and families in our society.
